Art Education Center Pascagoula

The renovation of the downtown senior center in Pascagoula into a viable Art Education Center was accomplished on a limited budget with maximum effect.  The facility now houses a sales/display gallery, classroom, ceramics area, kiln room, and storage.  The exterior facelift utilized new paint and new awning to attract attention to the building.  The interior space in the sales/display gallery, originally very bland, was enlarged by removing existing 2’x4’ lay-in ceiling to expose the ceiling structure and painting that area black to create more depth.  Directional display lighting was installed to highlight the displays of local artist’s work through showroom windows and also within the gallery.  A more vibrant and eye catching space was created by improving the interior appearance with flooring and paint.  The final project construction cost was $45,000.
